Special Talk : CAREER CHOICES-Wise Transitioning from High School to College and University

In the recent past, the world has been faced with various challenges, ranging from hard economic times to the current global pandemic brought about by COVID-19. In these challenging times the youth have been greatly affected as they are disproportionately vulnerable due to lack of capital and gendered work norms. This has been traced back to the choice of subjects in high school and or career choices that the youth make during/ while transitioning from secondary school to Universities/Colleges.

It is from this perspective that like-minded women professionals in Science have come up with an initiative to run programmes that support and empower the youth in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)fields. This is in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 on Quality Education, a foundation for a peaceful and sustainable world. This initiative further seeks to carry out activities beyond science as a way of self and collective development including but not limited to consultancy services and research.
